ICA Welcomes Extreme Sailing Series™ to Fan Pier, Boston
JUNE 30 – JULY 4

 

(Boston, Mass.— June 21, 2011) The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (ICA) is proud to join the City of Boston in welcoming the Extreme Sailing Series™ to Fan Pier from June 30th – July 4th

As part of the celebration, the ICA will be offering 2-for-1 admission to Extreme Sailing Series visitors who have an ESS wristband or a special ICA ticket (handed out at the community tent near the ESS village). Valid June 30–July 4 only.

Visitors will get to cool off while touring the ICA galleries featuring The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl and Catherine Opie: Empty and Full.  The ICA’s stunning waterfront location – including the grandstand and the Water Café – are the perfect spot to take in the sailing competition as well as the firework display on the evening of Thursday, June 30th.
 

Along with the galleries, the ICA will be hosting a host of exciting events this summer including:

  • ·Harborwalk Sounds, the ICA’s popular series of free outdoor concerts (Thursdays, July 7-Sept.8)
  •  Talking Taste, featuring demonstrations by New England celebrity chefs (Fridays, July 8-29)

  • ·Waterfront dance parties at DJs on the Harbor (Fridays, Aug. 5, 12, 26)

  • ·Red Bull Cliff Diving, a diving competition in which the ICA building will be used as a diving platform (Aug. 20)
