Gallery Learning
Duties/Responsibilities: Support Education staff with research, administrative, and clerical assistance.
Under the guidance of Education staff, the Gallery Learning Intern may be directed to:
• Research forthcoming exhibitions
• Write interpretive text for the Poss Family Mediatheque
• Prepare exhibition materials and content folders for Tour Guides
• Assist with securing copyrights for Poss Family Mediatheque content
• Upload exhibition audio commentary on iPods
• Assist staff with additional curatorial projects as determined
Preferred Job Requirements:
Education:
Graduate student with a major in visual arts, art history, humanities or museum studies desired. Demonstrated familiarity with contemporary art is a plus.
Computer Skills:
Facility with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint) is essential. Cataloguing and database experience is a plus.
Individual should have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), must be organized, flexible, reliable, detail oriented, and able to work independently and multi task on various projects at the same time.
Compensation: This internship is Unpaid
Dates Available: October 2008 - May 2009
College Credit: May be available based on your program of study, and will be determined prior to starting.
Hours: 16 hours. Days flexible.
