Overview:
The Human Resources Department is responsible for the management, execution and enhancement of the Internship Program for the organization. The HR Intern will assist the HR Manager with the preparation and management of this program for the current and next semester.

The ICA offers internships based on the academic calendar – Fall, Spring and Summer. The number of internship openings in the organization is based on departmental needs and museum activities.

Responsibilities:
The HR intern will assist with specific projects related to the functioning of the Internship Program including recruiting, selection, orientation, seminars, and evaluations. Project related responsibilities will include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Assist with planning and implementation of the incoming intern orientation
  • Organize seminar series
  • Manage and enhance internship evaluations
  • Develop relationships with local and national museum studies programs and art institutes to recruit interns
  • Research best practices for enhancing internship program
  • Manage tracking system for applicants
  • Enhance process for intake and review of applicants

Other projects related to the Human Resources field will be assigned based on internship length.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will be interested in the Human Resources field or Operations Management; strong organizational, interpersonal/communication skills, attention to detail; demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite, database management, web research (social media tools a plus); ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
