Position Overview:
The ICA’s Art Library is an internal resource for curators and education staff in particular, and consists of ICA-exhibition catalogues, other museum catalogues (US and international), monographs, art theory books and art periodicals – approximately 3800 books and 2000 magazines in total.
This internship is a continuation of the recently established project of cataloguing the ICA art-reference library, specifically on organizing the ICA exhibition catalogues/publications both in the library and ICA archive.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Senior Registrar and Assistant Registrar the Library Intern will be asked to:
• Record title and information in the LibraryThing database. (currently a quarter of the library has been entered)
• Stamp with ICA-library stamp
• Organize and cross-check the ICA exhibition catalogues in the library with the ICA archive collection to make sure copies of ICA publications exist in both.
• Organize and file ICA archive materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Upper-level undergraduate or graduate student in Museum Studies or Library Studies.
Notes:
College Credit May be available based on your program of study, and will be determined prior to starting.
