ICA Tour Guide
For the Love of Art! Become a Volunteer Tour Guide at the ICA.
“I love giving a tour when I can guide a conversation in the direction that results in this magic moment when we all see things differently! Wow.” —Connie, ICA Tour Guide
We seek museum-loving, people-oriented, charismatic individuals to join our dynamic community of volunteers from diverse backgrounds and with a shared interest in the art of our time. We want energetic and fun individuals for sparking lively conversation with visitors of all ages as we look at and learn together about contemporary art and culture. Tour guides are key members of the Education Department.
You must enjoy working with people and show a passion for culture and creative expression; no prior art experience required. Excellent communication skills are a necessity. Fluency in more than one language is also encouraged as is being generally awesome.
Selected applicants will participate in an 11-session training program this winter/spring (one meeting per week). After graduation all guides lead four tours each month and participate in training sessions for new exhibitions throughout the year.
Applications are being accepted now! Tell us why you’re awesome guide material. To apply to be a Tour Guide, please print and fill out the application and return to the ICA Tour Program before December 31, 2013. Appropriate candidates will be selected for interviews in December and January.
