One of Australia's great storytellers, famed photographer and performance artist William Yang shares his intimate perspective of two marginalized Australian communities: Aborigines and migrant Germans. With arresting imagery and a wry sense of humor, "Shadows" is a moving story about the lives of outsiders, told through the eyes of a gay Chinese Australian. Part social documentary, part personal observation, it is punctuated with Yang's powerful photographs and accompanied by Colin Offord's haunting and lyrical live music.
