The 2006 James and Audrey Foster Prize Winner
Sherman's drawings, photographs, and video-based work question emotion's place in an often cynical world. Wish Lists, an arrangement of forty anonymously collected lists of desired objects, is the centerpiece of her exhibition. Sherman also presents a series of diagrammatic drawings revealing shifting relationships and circumstances brought on by divorce, and Chairs, a video work that shows a succession of seating items offered for sale on eBay, accompanied by mournful sound. A Cambridge resident, Sherman earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art in 2002. She was an Artist-in-Research at the Berwick Research Institute in Roxbury in spring 2006.
