The Social Scene: The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation Photography Collection at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles

The exhibition comprised over 200 social documentary photographs, acquired by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles in 1995, situating the works along political, environmental, social and gender lines. The historically significant collection features both celebrated and lesser-known works by the great social documentary photographers Diane Arbus, Brassai, Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander, Helen Levitt, Danny Lyon, Roger Mertin, John Pfahl, and Garry Winogrand.

The exhibition was organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
