Frequently Asked Questions
I recently joined the ICA or renewed my membership. When should I expect to receive my membership cards?
You should expect to receive your membership cards within two weeks. If you would like to visit the ICA in the interim, simply present a photo ID at admissions and our visitor services staff will look your record up in our system.
What if I have lost my membership card?
You can request a replacement card for a $5 fee. To make a request, call our Membership Department, send an email request to membership@icaboston.org, or visit a membership station at admissions. In the meantime you can still visit the ICA by presenting a photo ID at admissions.
What are the rules for using guest passes?
Members at the Associate level and above receive guest admission passes. Guest passes can be used for one-time free admission during regular museum hours. Guest passes may not be used for admission to members-only previews and events.
How many guests can I bring to members-only previews and events?
Member previews and events are special opportunities for current members to view exhibitions prior to opening to the public. Individual level membership allows entry for one, while Dual level membership and above allows entry for two.
What is a reciprocal membership?
Members at the Friend level and above receive reciprocal membership privileges such as free admission and discounts at 35 of the country's modern and contemporary art museums including the ICA, Philadelphia; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; the Phillips Collection; and the Walker Art Center.
