The Regional Youth Media Arts Education Consortium is a community of Boston-area individuals and organizations committed to strengthening the youth media arts field through the exchange of information, resources and youth-produced media.

SCRATCH Workshop

This Workshop is designed to expose its participants to the versatility and creative potential of SCRATCH through examples, introductory exercises and collaborative projects. Bring your own laptop and be prepared to download SCRATCH for free. All Levels of computer expertise are welcome. SCRATCH is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It is available for free download at http://scratch.mit.edu.
Karen Brennan is a PhD candidate at the MIT Media Lab and a member of the Scratch Team. Her work focuses on Scratch and the Scratch educator community, studying how participation in the Scratch online community and how professional development for educators can support young people as creators of computational media.
This is the first of two events sponsored by RYMAEC on this day. If you want to attend both, you must register for each event separately. Both events will take place at the Institute of Contemporary Art, 100 Northern Ave, Boston, MA.
RYMAEC: Web 2.0pen Mic

Show off your favorite uses of web technology for the classroom: blogging, podcasting, Wikis, Twitter, etc. Share with others, and take new ideas home. Just bring your URLs; we’ll put your work on the screen and hand you the mic!
