Play Date: Really Big Art
Think like an architect! Take a closer look at our building with a family tour and view films on architecture including “Roberto the Insect Architect” and "The Making of the New ICA." Then take our design challenge and build your own 3-D models to withstand the wind in the Bank of America Art Lab. Choreographers Group Youth Ensemble performs contemporary dance at 12:30 pm in the Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater and outdoors at 1:30 pm. This program and museum admission are free for 2 adults per family with children 12 and under. No prior registration is necessary, but theater events are ticketed. Tickets are free and available first-come, first-served at the admissions desk on the day of the program.

Play Date: Bigger, Bigger, Pop!
After experiencing Anish Kapoor’s mind-blowing sculptures, visit the Bank of America Art Lab, where you can help build a sculpture that challenges your perceptions of space. Ready for more adventures? At 12 and 2 pm, you can explore visual art, science, and the physical laws of the natural world with "Bubblemania," a hilarious program of comedy, music, and unbelievable soap bubble art from Casey Carle, an award-winning “Bubble Champion” who has worked with Cirque du Soleil. This program and museum admission are free for 2 adults per family with children 12 and under. No prior registration is necessary, but theater events are ticketed. Tickets are free and available first-come, first-served at the admissions desk on the day of the program.

Play Date: Moving Conversations
Sometimes art is like a conversation. Drop in on Sara Rudner’s dance installation (ongoing from 12 - 4 pm) and see how the dancers “talk” to the audience, then see how Anish Kapoor’s sculptures seem to change depending on where you are standing. Create your own sculptures in the Bank of America Art Lab, cast unique forms, or create your own moving conversations with visiting artists out on the grandstand (weather permitting). This program and museum admission are free for 2 adults per family with children 12 and under. No prior registration is necessary, but theater events are ticketed. What is it all about? How did they make it? Pick up a Family Activity Guide in the lobby, then explore the third installation of the ICA's permanent collection together. Create your own artworks in the Bank of America Art Lab or step outside for live music and sketching on the grandstand.
