Contemporary Masterpieces

Take a stroll through the ICA Collection, find artworks that are exceptional, and ask as many questions as you’d like to our family programs gallery staff. Then, go further by recording your family’s thoughts and ideas for others to hear. Ready for more? Step on stage with Mass Movement artists and create “masterpiece” performances (related to our collection!) or construct your own contemporary sculptures in the Bank of America Art Lab, remaking everyday materials. As a Halloween bonus, young visitors who come wearing self-designed costumes will be awarded art materials (and treats!) to take home.

At 2 pm only, the ICA presents the acclaimed animated feature The Secret of Kells. Magic, fantasy and Celtic mythology come together in a sweeping story about the power of imagination and faith to carry humanity through dark times. The Los Angeles Times proclaimed it "ravishing! Magical! Glorious!" Running time is 75 minutes; best suited for children seven years and older.
