Color Me Contemporary
What color would you choose to represent what it means to be you? Wear your personal hue to this color-themed Play Date. Join us in the galleries to find out how contemporary artists work and play with color; discover where color comes from with related art-making activities; and capture the wintry effects on the Boston’s waterfront from the John Hancock Founder’s Gallery.

10 am–5 pm: Gallery Visit

Tour the Figuring Color exhibition, then reveal and share your ideas. Family Program staff are on hand to answer any questions!
10:30 am–4 pm: Sketching
Founder's Gallery, 4th Floor
Join us for ongoing drop-in sketching sessions for all ages; materials provided.
10:45 am–3:30 pm: Aura Paintings
Bank of America Art Lab, 1st Floor
Create a painting that best represents what color you think best describes you or your favorite place. Recommended for ages 6 and up with adults.
11 am–4 pm: Contemporary Sculpture
State Street Corporation Lobby / Bank of America Art Lab, 1st Floor
Design and build your own unique small-scale works of art inspired by Figuring Color. Designed for all ages, space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
1:30 pm–2:30 pm: Color, Music, and Movement
Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater, 2nd Floor Entrance
Join student performers from Concord Academy for a lively presentation featuring audience participation inspired by works on view in Figuring Color. Recommended for ages 6 and up with adults.
PLEASE NOTE: Outside food is not permitted in the Water Café; a children's menu is available.
