Visit the Barry McGee exhibition for inspiration, then create unique works of art using mixed media on plywood.
PORTRAITS + PERFORMANCE | Ongoing, 11 am–4 pm
Bank of America Art Lab
Guided by artist/film director Romie Faienza, each family will take three photos, one as themselves, the second as someone else, and the third a bridge between the first two. Have fun performing or just being yourself.

Calling all future "idols"! Show us your stuff during short family performances by kids and their grownups led by our very own MC!
Registration: Performers may sign up in advance—before Friday, April 26—through klomatiski@icaboston.org, OR on in person on the day of the program up to 30 minutes prior to performance (see a Family Programs staff member in the State Street Corporation Lobby). In-person registration may be limited.
Email registrants, please provide the following:
- Names and ages of children performers
- Brief description of performance
- Approximate duration of performance (6 minutes or less)
- Email address
- If you would like the ICA to play your personal soundtrack, please bring an I-Pod or CD.

This mid-career survey of San Francisco–based artist Barry McGee provides an opportunity to explore vibrant art inspired by the energy of the street.

YOUR PLACE TO REFLECT + EXPLORE
This multimedia learning space allows visitors to delve deeper into works on view in Barry McGee. It also provides a great space for families to discuss what they've seen in the galleries. Parental discretion advised; some video works depict graffiti art practices and a demolition derby.
