Play Date: Harborwalk Art Festooning
Take in the array of contemporary art in our galleries, make your own sketchbook, and shake it up in the Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater with Rainbow Tribe. Ready for more action? Step inside a giant, hand-sewn inflatable beehive! Play “buzz words” with beekeeping artists, learn waggle dancing and add to our drawing festoon. Families may also donate unopened, non-toxic arts and crafts materials to be distributed locally via Cradles to Crayons.

Sculpting Flowers | 11 am – 4 pm
Choose from colorful mixed materials. Create flowers to add to our Flower Web Wall or to take away with you.
This activity is for all ages of kids and adults together. Location: Bank of America Art Lab
Festooning + Visiting the Inflatable Bee Hive | 11 am – 3 pm
What is festooning? Step inside a giant bee hive with artists / beekeepers to play games and find out. Sculpt bees or sketch while you wait. This activity if for all ages of kids and adults together. Location: The Vivien and Alan Hassenfeld Harborway
Sketching on the Harborwalk | 11 am – 4 pm
Record your view of Boston Harbor or sketch from your imagination. All materials are provided. All ages welcome.
Rainbow Tribe Dance | 1:30 pm
Come see Tribe, Bside Boys, and Embrace performing multiple pieces. Then, audience members of all ages are invited on stage to learn a dance. Location: Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater
Visit the Galleries | All day
While visiting the galleries, take time to talk with our Visitor Assistants, wearing green "Ask Me" buttons. Ask questions about art or artists and share your thoughts. From 2 – 4 pm, look for our ICA tour guide to learn more about specific art works at your own pace.
