Play Date: Where the Action Is
Step into our galleries to see work by artists Nick Cave and William Kentridge. Then, create performance art with your family and visiting artist Cathy McLaurin or sketch what you see while taking in the view from the John Hancock Founders Gallery. Also, don’t miss our second annual ICA Idol DIY Performance Day in the Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater, featuring open mic for family participants, at 11:30 am and 2 pm.
ART MAKING ACTIVITIES
The following activities are ongoing and drop-in for all ages with adult support.
Rescue Animal Sculptures
11 am – 3 pm
Make a home for a new friend! Adopt a toy animal then use mixed materials to create a place for it to live.
Nick Cave: Body Work
10:30 am – 4 pm
Use the ICA’s materials bar to decorate Soundsuits and other Nick Cave-inspired designs on life-size coloring-book pages!
Sketching in the John Hancock Founders Gallery
11 am – 4 pm
Enjoy the views of the Boston Harbor and beyond while you sketch.
