Live Film Score: From Morning to Midnight   

The Alloy Orchestra presents the Boston premiere of their live score for the silent film From Morning to Midnight directed by Karl-Henz Martin (1920, 74 min). A unique visual German expressionist masterwork, recently rediscovered in Japan, the film features radically stylized sets and imagery. Seen today the originality and daring of the film’s overall conception elevates it to the pantheon of the cinema’s most prominent and important “lost” works. 

Called "the best in the world at accompanying silent films" by Roger Ebert, The Alloy Orchestra writes and performs unusual combination of found percussion and state-of-the-art electronics, helping to revive some great and unusual films of the silent era.
