SHORT FILM PROGRAM: NEW ENGLAND ANIMATORS
TRIBOULUMINESCENCE
by Benjamin Ridgeway
Tribouluminescence by Benjamin Ridgeway (2:00, 2011). WORLD PREMIERE. A constant, seamless movement of unfolding, glowing, abstract forms, the film is intended as a digital muse and an opportunity to engage in an abstract world, inviting the viewer to make personal connections to the visual and auditory experience without a narrative.
Currently an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University in Boston, Ben Ridgeway has 12 years of professional experience as both a 3D artist in the video game industry and as a professor. While in the games industry, he assisted in the creation of games for Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft console systems. As a filmmaker he has been creating award-wnning experimental films showcased both locally and internationally.
