ICA and WORLD MUSIC/CRASHarts PRESENT
NEW ENGLAND PREMIERE
“Doillon's voice is a marvel. On first hearing, you think she's gone to school on Amy Winehouse, but you very quickly move on to Billie Holliday and Nina Simone . . . “Places” deserves every superlative you can think of.”
Lou Doillon is a French model, singer, and actress. Daughter of film director Jacques Doillon and British actress and singer Jane Birkin, she has appeared in 80 movies and is the face and muse of Givenchy. Last year, she released her astonishing debut recording, Places, which won her best female performer of the year at Les Victoires de la Musique, the French equivalent of the Grammys. Singing in English and playing guitar, Doillon creates songs that are intimate, emotional and romantic.
The 2013–14 performance season at the ICA is presented with support from The Robert E. Davoli and Eileen L. McDonagh Charitable Foundation and Ellen Poss.
