Gloria Sutton on William Kentridge

If William Kentridge’s The Refusal of Time emphasizes the shape of time throughout history, what does it say about time in contemporary art? Hear from Gloria Sutton, Assistant Professor of Contemporary Art History and New Media at Northeastern University and author of the forthcoming The Experience Machine: Stan VanDerBeek’s Movie-Drome and Expanded Cinema Practices.

We recommend that visitors preview The Refusal of Time before the Gallery Talk. There are screenings available twice an hour, at the :15 and :45.

Support for William Kentridge: The Refusal of Time is provided by Kate and Charles Brizius; Paul and Katie Buttenwieser; Vivien and Alan Hassenfeld and the Hassenfeld Family Foundation; Hal and Jodi Hess; and Charles and Fran Rodgers.
