Talking Taste: Jeremy Sewall
Executive Chef and Co-Owner, Island Creek Oyster Bar and Row 34
Chef and Co-Owner, Lineage
Executive Chef, Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks
Jeremy Sewall bounced around kitchens in Europe and the U.S., earning a Rising Star Chef nomination from the James Beard Foundation along the way, before returning to his New England roots—and becoming one of Boston’s most prolific chefs. After positions at L’Espalier and Hotel Commonwealth’s Great Bay, Sewall and his wife, Lisa, a pastry chef and fellow L’Espalier alum, struck out on their own in 2006 with Lineage, serving modern American cuisine in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner. In 2009 he joined Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks as collaborating chef, and in 2010 he partnered with that restaurant team as a co owner and executive chef of Island Creek Oyster Bar. Last December, the team opened Row 34, a stylish “workingman’s oyster bar” (and ICA neighbor!) reinterpreting classic New England seafare in a stunning repurposed warehouse space. This talk will be held indoors.
