10:15 AM–12:15 PM
The exhibitions This Will Have Been: Art, Love & Politics in the 1980s and Os Gemeos show us how music—particularly the rising sounds of ’80s hip-hop—influences visual artists. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hit the turntables with music from this influential decade.
Using vinyl records, participants receive an introductory lesson on mixing, transitioning between songs, and basic scratching techniques.
No previous experience required. Space is limited. An additional hour is added for educators, from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm.
Workshop participants receive a 10% discount at the Water Café on the day of the program. Excludes alcoholic beverages.
Programs for educators are made possible in part by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
