House Manager

The Institute of Contemporary Art is looking to hire a part time House Manager for the Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater immediately.

The House Manager is responsible for the overall experience of the audience when they come to a performance at the ICA.  They are, for many patrons, the face of the ICA. The House Manager will be responsible for working with the production team to ensure the house opens on time, will work with ICA security to make sure the theater is a safe environment for patrons, will provide direction to theater ushers before each performance and will handle any seating or ticketing problems with the box office. They will work on a variety of performances including contemporary theater and dance, artist lectures, films, and family days. They will mainly work in the Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater but on occasion will move into other spaces.

The ideal candidate should have experience as a house manager; be cheerful, good under pressure, able to problem solve, flexible, calm, and able to communicate clearly. Must be able to work well with a variety of people and have a flexible schedule.

This is an hourly position that will require mainly nights and weekends.
