The Teen Creative Leadership (TCL) Alumni Assistant supports the ICA’s efforts to create a space for young people to reimagine and shape how teens engage with contemporary art and the ICA. The TCL Alumni Assistant assists Teen Programs staff with Teen Arts Council (TAC) and Teen Exhibitions Program (TEP) program facilitation and development, as well as in providing participating teens with direct individualized support. They support other creative youth development programs as needed. This is a part-time, hourly position.

Please note:

  • All ICA employees are required to reside in Massachusetts and within a reasonable commuting distance from our Seaport location as of their first day of work.
  • The ICA offers the flexibility of a hybrid work week, which averages three to four days a week onsite for employees who are eligible to work remotely (subject to change, and at managers discretion).


  • Assist with planning and facilitation of TAC and TEP
  • Assist with development of TAC and TEP projects, events, and initiatives
  • Support TAC and TEP members during meetings, projects, events, and off-site field trips
  • Engage TAC and TEP with ICA exhibitions and performances, as well as other contemporary art and artists
  • Encourage TAC and TEP to interact with other ICA teen programs
  • Participate in education meetings and stay informed about what’s happening across the department
  • Foster community and connections between ICA staff and teens in TAC and TEP
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Successful completion on of the ICA’s teen programs, member in good standing
  • Post high school course work in related area a plus
  • Interest in pursuing a professional path in museum/arts education
  • Organizational and administrative skills
  • Must successfully pass a CORI background check
  • Available to work flexible hours including evening and weekend shifts
  • Available to work 15-20 hours per week

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary working on a computer, standing and/or moving about the office
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
  • Ability to move about in the office to access files, printers, etc.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information with departments and with diverse and multigenerational audiences

Rate: $19.50/hour
