Visitor Assistant

Looking for a part-time position that combines your skills in customer-service and interest in contemporary art? The ICA is seeking a reliable, strong customer service-oriented individual for the position of Visitor Services Gallery Assistant, which combines the responsibilities of gallery security guard with museum information and exhibition interpretation. The Visitor Services Gallery Assistant will have the opportunity to work as a key member of an education-oriented, visitor-centered staff; grow and practice public speaking and audience engagement skills; and learn about artwork and public safeguarding practices. Ability to stand for long periods of time, adhere to a dress code and general mobility throughout the building is required. This position will be scheduled during weekdays, weekends and evenings.

Benefits of the Visitor Assistant position include free museum admission, discounts in the store and water cafe, memberships discounts on select ICA productions and free museum admission at select museums in and around Boston, available after 60 days of employment.

Interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter to hselinger@icaboston.org. Please include “Visitor Assistant” in the subject line of your email.
