Lineup

Kennen Butler — July 13

Kennen Butler is a decorated performer, voice teacher, songwriter, producer, choreographer, and director born in Flint, MI, but raised in Newburgh, NY. Passionate, expressive, and versatile, Butler has performed both abroad and on US soil, getting their start in the National Tour of the revival of Seussical the Musical directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge. They would join the revival cast off-broadway as a swing before setting out to portray Duane and understudy Seaweed in the first regional production of Hairspray in the country as well as performing in the iconic role of Man #1 in Songs for a New World in LA which was music directed by AJ Rafael and a revival of Tommy where they would understudy the Acid Queen.

Abroad, they would serve as a Creative Consultant for Universal Studios Osaka as well as being a swing for the company. They would also serve as director/choreographer for a small Japanese production company called Team Utsubo where they mounted revue musicals in both English and Japanese. Kennen also had the privilege of touring and performing their original music while in Japan, both as a commercial artist as well as pieces for musical theater. In 2017 they were selected by Paul Roberts (choreographer of artists such as One Direction, The Spice Girls, Katy Perry, and more), Jill Hiller (choreographer of Ricky Martin, Gwen Stefani, Nicki Minaj, and more) and Keith Young (choreographer on the film Rent, Bette Midler, En Vogue, and more) to be a lead vocalist for a string of brand new shows for Carnival Cruise Line. They have also been a headliner for Celebrity Cruise Line’s flagship.

Dakota — July 20

As Dakota Cohen undergoes all the love and heartbreak life has to offer, she paints her experiences onto the canvas that is her music. Behind her bright synths and groovy bass lines, Dakota infuses authenticity and vulnerability into her lyrics and ignites it with her powerhouse vocals. Her sound can be characterized as nostalgic and shiny pop with rock and funk twists, as inspired by artists like Bruno Mars and Dua Lipa. Under the guidance of her vocal coach, Stevie Mackey (Kelly Rowland, Selena Gomez), Dakota has proven her dual talent as a songwriter and performer. She is the newest recipient of the Best Songwriter Award at Berklee College of Music, an acknowledgment of her musical craft. Just recently, Dakota performed at the Recording Academy Texas Chapter Block Party at SXSW in front of industry leaders and mentors. Possessing an undeniable talent and charisma on stage, this L.A. native performer has landed herself on the iconic stages of Lollapalooza and Milwaukee’s Summerfest.

Emilio Gonzalez x Emme Cannon — July 27

Emilio Gonzalez is a singer songwriter from Tampa, Florida whose style is akin to Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, and Andy Shauf. In 2008, Emilio found himself inspired by the musical stylings of The Rat Pack, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, and more which were first introduced to him via the video game “Fallout 3.” During his high school career, Emilio performed with his school jazz band and participated in solo and ensemble competitions. Entering his college years, Emilio found a love for writing music, looking to the work of independent singer songwriters Lucy Rose, Andy Shauf, Julia Jacklin, and more. After performing at various open mics, restaurants, and bars, he was integrated into the Florida folk scene. This catalyzed a collaboration with artist and producer Liam Bauman, who assisted in the production and recording of Emilio’s recent EP, “Hazy.” Emilio now studies at Berklee College of music where he continues to write songs through a creative mix of jazz and folk storytelling.

Emme Cannon is a singer-songwriter and producer whose repertoire consists of flowing ballads for life’s unpopular beauties. Along with her use of mystical lyricism, her music combines chamber pop, indie-folk, and alternative for an original and unique fusion of genres. Her most recent release “Can’t Say No To You” features belting lines of forgiveness and self-realization in toxic relationships. Her first written and produced EP, “Home Planet” explores aspects of life beyond this realm and finding love in life’s uncertainties. Emme has shared her “hypnotizing voice and delivery” (The Roanoke Times) with the Boston Book Festival, Help Save the Next Girl Foundation, The Boston Calendar, and the Songwriters in the Round (Part IV) hosted by Corey Hunley at the iconic Grandin Theatre (BB King, Ray Charles). She currently resides in Boston, studying contemporary writing and production and songwriting at Berklee College of Music.

Tascha — August 3

Tascha is a Parisian singer-songwriter who started to perform from an early age with different bands playing funk, Afrobeat, soul and jazz music. These genres, combined with her interest for urban music and her French Caribbean heritage (Guadeloupe and Martinique) gave life to her universe that she likes to call “rooted pop music.” Tascha enjoys writing in English, French, and Creole as each language brings a particular character to her voice and different colors to her compositions. Sharing her music on stage with an audience is her favorite part as an artist so be ready to discover Tascha’s world.

Jailene Michelle — August 10

Inspired by the sounds of rumba, the syncopations of plena, and the virtuosity of musicians such as Dave Valentin and Tito Rodríguez, flutist and singer Jailene Michelle was born in Bo Obrero, Santurce, Puerto Rico. Her deep sound gets to the core of her listeners combined by her intimate voice like Norah Jones’s and Gretchen Parlato’s.

Her artistic soul is combination of her formal classical background with her Caribbean roots, which has lead her from playing for the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, the Coro de Niños de San Juan, to singing backing vocals for salsa artist “Gerardo Rivas”, “Julio César Sanabria” and recording as a session musician for Indie and Neo Soul productions, Jailene Michelle has a combination of two worlds that collide with one another. Her elegance, sense of rhythm and intuitive phrasing are her footprints in every scenery she comes up to.

Two Smooth — August 17

Two Smooth is the collaborative project of the multi-talented Juan Botero and Kyle Takata. Despite hailing from opposite ends of the country, the two met at school in Boston and formed a virtuosic duo, quickly co-writing new-age soul and upbeat R&B music together. Taking sonic inspiration from past generations, they look to put authenticity back in today’s music. With each member having a background in live performance, whether on stage or in the studio, Two Smooth was built to put on a show. Featuring a 12-piece live band, they are a one of a kind musical experience you do not want to miss.

Sheila del Bosque — August 24

Born in Havana, Sheila del Bosque Fuentes is a Cuban flutist, composer, and conductor. Throughout her career, del Bosque has been performing with orchestras such as the Orchestra of Lyceum Mozartiano from Havana adjunct to Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg, the National Orchestra of Cuba, and the Cuban European Youth Academy and Orchestra. Sheila has performed for influential personalities like Pope Francis, Jill Biden, Usher, Bon Jovi, and The Rolling Stones. Awarded a full-tuition scholarship, del Bosque graduated from Berklee College of Music with a dual major in performance and film scoring with a minor in orchestral conducting. At Berklee, she has shared the stage with musicians such as Paquito d’Rivera, Omar Hakim, Lalah Hathaway, and Danilo Pérez, among others. Some of her awards include first prize at the NFA in the category of jazz artist, the Nick Caizza Award in performance, and the Tibor Pusztai Award in conducting.

Sanvi Belwal — August 31

Sanvi Belwal is a composer, producer, and a classically trained singer. She was born in New Jersey and spent her early childhood in Pennsylvania. She then moved to Uttarakhand, India, and spent her teenage years there. Stage performances allow her to showcase her persona and the range, tonal-quality, depth, throw, and strength of her voice. Her music is an expression of self and all things valuable to her.
