Art Lab: Immersive Images | 10 AM–3 PM

1st Floor, Bank of America Art Lab

Create artwork that can accompany your gallery experience! Decorate clear acetate sheets to create a see-through character or setting, then take your artwork to the galleries to see how it can integrate with the art on view! How does the world look through your artwork?

“March” to the Beat with Grooversity | 12–1 PM

2nd Floor, Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater

Acclaimed percussionist, educator, activist and Grooversity maestro Marcus Santos leads an ensemble of drummers and dancers in a high-energy survey of musical styles springing from his native Bahia—the original capital of Brazil. Audience members are introduced to soul-stirring Afro-Brazilian traditional rhythms, the thunderous and joyful drumming of carnival marching bands, and the modern sounds of Samba Funk. They will join in the fun with call-and-response chants and dance moves, while volunteers are invited on stage to contribute to the musical experience.

Books and Looks | 10:30 + 11:30 AM

4th Floor, Galleries

Connect with art through the creative worlds of picture books! Join our staff for a guided reading of family-friendly storybooks in the galleries. Each Books and Looks reading lasts approximately 30 minutes.
