Kids rule the ICA the last Saturday of every month, when the museum’s Seaport location fills up with fun, creative, and even zany activities for kids and adults to do together.

Exploring Building Materials

Today we highlight three common materials used to make the ICA building—steel, glass, and wood!

11:30 AM–12 PM and 1:30–2 PM | Steel: Steel Drumming
Grandstand, outdoors
Stop by the grandstand and enjoy the harbor view and the relaxing sounds from the Pan Local Band’s steel drums!

10:30 AM–1:30 PM | Glass: Window Frames
Lobby, 1st floor
Inspired by the many glass windows of the ICA, explore light and transparency by creating your own window frame. What will the view from your window look like?

10:30 AM–1 PM and 1:30–4 PM | Wood: Wooden Collages
Bank of America Art Lab, 1st floor
See how ICA’s architects extend the wood straight from the harbor walk into the museum! Then explore structure and material by creating your own 3D wood collages.
