Explore artworks in the exhibition, Beyond Infinity: Contemporary Art after Kusama through artmaking, observation, and movement. What is infinity? How can we explore time, presence, and the power of illusion? Work with our visiting artists this month on our quest through infinity and beyond. This month we’re excited to host workshops by theatre and play experts, The Gottabees, and socially engaged multimedia artist, Elisa Hamilton.

Join Bonnie Duncan of The Gottabees for ScreenPLAY! We’ll explore illusions and imagined worlds using movement, household objects, and our screens. Part dance party — part puppet play — all FUN. So, clear some space at home, jump into your ZOOM square, and get ready to PLAY!

- 3 paper plates (or any lightweight plates that won’t break)

Exploring Art with Brooke Scibelli

Join ICA educator Brooke Scibelli in this interactive virtual workshop where we’ll explore artworks about infinity and illusion from the ICA’s exhibition, Beyond Infinity: Contemporary Art after Kusama. Be sure to bring paper and something to write and draw with!
Follow That Line with Elisa Hamilton

Join multimedia artist Elisa Hamilton for explorations in blind contour drawing — a drawing process that is grounded in close looking, line-making and discovery. Leave notions of perfection behind and embrace a wandering journey of eyes, hands, and line using your own form as inspiration.
You’ll want to collect and bring:
- Blank white paper; computer printer paper is great, or any other paper that you have!
- Black marker or crayon
- Other colors of markers or crayons, too

Artist Bios
The Gottabees
The Gottabees are a Boston-based ensemble who have been happily making “super fun theater for the whole family” for the past seven years. They have performed for audiences across the region, throughout the U.S., and beyond. You may recognize them from their shows: Squirrel Stole My Underpants, Lollipops for Breakfast, and Go Home Tiny Monster. The Gottabees’ mission is to inspire community, connection, and joy by providing an outlet for families to giggle, gasp, sigh, and cheer together. The Gottabees want children (and adults!) to know in their hearts that they, too, can make theater wherever they are and whomever they are.

Brooke Scibelli (she/her/hers)
Brooke Scibelli is a Boston-based artist and educator and is the Family and Art Lab Programs Coordinator at the ICA. When she’s not coming up with workshop ideas for the ICA or creating handmade pieces for her studio at Non Issue Studio, she likes to sew her own clothes, make a mess in the kitchen, and be outside!
Elisa Hamilton (she/her/hers)
Elisa H. Hamilton is a socially engaged multimedia artist who creates inclusive artworks that emphasize shared spaces and the hopeful examination of our everyday places, objects, and experiences. Learn more about her work at elisahhamilton.com.
Virtual Play Date activities are designed for kids and their grownups to participate together. Workshops will be held on video conferencing platforms and will be live and interactive.
