Artworks acquired through the Acquisitions Circle

In its inaugural year, 2015, the Acquisitions Circle collected funds to purchase Hito Steyerl’s Liquidity Inc., 2014, a video installation using water as its guiding theme. The piece will go on view at the ICA in conjunction with the exhibition Art in the Age of the Internet in February 2018.

In fall 2016, the Acquisitions Circle voted and approved the purchase of all three of the proposed acquisitions, paintings which stretch the limits of the medium and materialize the everyday.  Henry Taylor’s i’m yours, 2015, and Sadie Benning’s Crowd, 2015, are currently on view in ICA Collection: New Acquisitions. Laura Owens’s Untitled, 2015, is expected to go on view in spring 2018.
