Summer Stages Dance @ ICA/Boston presents a unique and thrilling work-in-progress performance combining music, dance, and juggling. At the ICA, Sandbox Percussion and Gandini Juggling will begin work on a new multi-disciplinary project featuring the music of renowned avant-garde composer Iannis Xenakis. Joining the collaboration are Boston-area dancers and movement artists Alissa Cardone, CiCi Kai, and Yo-El Cassell, along with former Merce Cunningham Dance Company member Jennifer Goggans. Watch this new collaboration take shape with a special showcase of these remarkable artists.
Described as “exhilarating” (The New York Times) and “utterly mesmerizing” (The Guardian), Grammy-nominated ensemble Sandbox Percussion captivate audiences with performances that are both visually and aurally stunning. Formed in London in 1992 by world-renowned jugglers Sean Gandini and Kati Ylä-Hokkala, Gandini Juggling are at the vanguard of contemporary circus, reinventing and reinvigorating juggling for the 21st century.
