Momentum, a new series of exhibitions at the ICA focusing on significant new work by emerging artists form the United States and around the world, launches with the solo U.S. museum debut of New York-based artist Carol Bove. Bove’s portraits and layered sculptural installations offer a present-day reflection on formative social, pilitical, and artistic movements of the 1960s and ‘70s. For this exhibition she created new works that draws upon her explorations into the ICA archives and the architectural history of the museum at its present location.
