“Fresh, touching, musical, original.” —The New York Times

Since its founding in 2005 by award-winning visionaries Christine Cox and Matthew Neenan, Philadelphia’s stellar BalletX has expanded the vocabulary of classical dance to forge innovative new works of athleticism, emotion, and grace. The company’s world-class dancers collaborate with distinguished choreographers to create bold new dances. The Boston program includes Joshua L. Peugh’s Slump, with music by Klezmer Juice, Yma Sumac, and Ella Fitzgerald; Amy Seiwert’s It’s Not a Cry, with music by Jeff Buckley (cover of “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen); Jodie Gates’s Delicate Balance, with music by Arvo Pärt, Henryk Gorecki, Gavin Bryars and David Lang, and Max Richter; and Matthew Neenan’s The Last Glass, with music by Beirut.

Free preperformance talks with Boston Dance Alliance Executive Director, Debra Cash, 30 minutes prior to curtain in the ICA’s State Street Corporation Lobby.
