Start your year immersed in art! Experiment with new art-making techniques through an activity inspired by Tammy Nguyen’s paintings. Relax and re-energize with a yoga workshop. Discover new stories with Books and Looks story time in the galleries. All activities are drop-in, first come first served, space is limited.    

Reserve free admission tickets online in advance (tickets will be available the second week of the month prior).*  

*On Saturday, January 27, museum admission is FREE for families when accompanied by kids ages 12 and under, with up to 2 adults per family. Tickets must be reserved online in advance. Use the code PLAYDATE when reserving your ticket(s). Advance tickets are strongly recommended; day-of tickets are not guaranteed.

Drawing in Cycles | 10 AM–3 PM (last entry 2:30 PM)

1st Floor, Art Lab 

Join us in the Bank of America Art Lab for hands-on art-making inspired by Tammy Nguyen‘s work! Participants will be able to make their own interconnected drawings, similar to Nguyen’s paintings that continue across multiple canvases. Art-making is drop-in on a first come first served basis.

Pretzel Kids® with Dejah Morales Yoga Workshop | 11 AM–12 PM

2nd Floor, Theater

Join us for a unique “New Beginning” workshop theme in a yoga flow for parents and kids. This workshop aims to create an experience that allows for a fresh new start, whether through trying out new poses or practicing new meditation and breathwork techniques. It’s an opportunity to start fresh and create a blank slate for the year ahead. The workshop will consist of a 1-hour class, with 30 minutes dedicated to a kid-friendly yoga flow and 30 minutes for an interactive activity. Wear comfortable clothing and prepare to embark on this journey of new beginnings together!

4th Floor, Mediatheque

Join for a staff led reading of family-friendly storybooks, and make connections to artworks on view.  

Family Gallery Guides | 10 AM–5 PM

1st Floor, Art Lab and 4th Floor, Galleries 

Pick up a Family Gallery Guide from the Art Lab and head to the 4th floor to view our current exhibits: Forecast Form: Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s – Today, the 2023 James and Audrey Foster Prize, and Tammy Nguyen.
