This workshop is designed for children ages 6-12 accompanied by an adult.
Join ICA educators and fellow homeschool families for an art-filled morning at the museum!
Begin with a guided, interactive tour of current exhibitions and learn about the many materials, techniques, and ideas contemporary artists use to create their work. Then, head to the Bank of America Art Lab to engage in the creative process through an art-making project connected to perfect memory, an installation by Boston-based artist crystal bi. ICA educators will facilitate discussion using inquiry-based learning to explore how contemporary artists create in response to a place, identity, or personal experience. Taking inspiration from crystal’s practice, participants will create their own floating sculptures using bamboo, clay, and other natural materials.
All participating youth must be accompanied by an adult. Capacity is limited, advance tickets are required.
