“Who Gets to Make History?” Artmaking with Wee The People | 12 – 4 PM

Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater

Bring your family and join Wee The People for an all-ages art-making workshop in honor of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr.

From Wee The People:
What are monuments for? What do they teach us about who matters? And how can we radically reimagine monuments to lift up our heroes and reclaim our stories? Wee the People invites you to collage your own mini-monument to Blackness with recycled materials and images of Black art, culture, history, and experience.

Don’t miss a storytime reading of The Artivist, an award-winning picture book about how kids can combine art and activism in their daily lives. Get ready for a blast of collage creativity and monumental joy!

Art-making is free with admission. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis, space is limited.
