Emily Key (she/her) has been the Education Programs Manager for the Smithsonian Latino Center since 2006. She oversees and develops bilingual educational programming and publications for the Center, including the national high school leadership program, the Young Ambassadors Program (YAP). Highlights during her tenure include the ongoing expansion of YAP and its accompanying Alumni Network, as well as the development and launch of the ¡Descubra! Meet the Science Expert family program series. In addition, Key oversees the development of strategic educational partnerships with local and national community and educational organizations and serves on several committees. Most recently spearheading the Smithsonian Latino Gallery Education Advisory Council and participating in the National Endowment for the Humanities Interagency Task Force on the Arts and Human Development, and the Federal Interagency Working Group for Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
