Art Institute of Chicago Teen Council
My name is Zimra Chickering (she/her), and I am a 16 year old, native-born Chicagoan who attends Jones College Prep. I am now in my second year as a Teen Council member and intern at the Art Institute of Chicago. I helped create the Teen Audio Guide, as well as plan and lead a tour during Exuberus, our annual Teen Art Night. I also collaborated with the Teen Creative Agency at the MCA to create an explorative zine for their 21Minus teen art night. I absolutely love photography, cooking, and reading. I am Jewish, vegetarian, and a proud CTA rider. I am excited to pursue art history, to eventually become an art curator, helping to represent a larger and more diverse scale of artists than previously accepted by many institutions, and to create a comfortable museum environment for all people.
