    Poss Family Mediatheque, 4th floor; meet at mediatheque lower level.
    Staff-led picture book readings make connections between stories and art on view or architecture concepts. Best for ages 3–8 with adults.
  • Family Pop-up Talks | 2:15, 3 + 3:30 PM
    4th floor galleries 
    Lively, staff-facilitated discussions invite close looking + comments from kids and adults while diving deeper into stories artworks tell. (Ask Visitor Assistants for specific location or look for the blue pillows.) 

FAMILY FILM PROGRAM

Today’s film programs feature a selection of the best independent films from around the world made for children and families, including animations, live action, documentaries, and experimental films. Check specific programs for age recommendations.

    Enjoy a variety of animated, live action, and documentary films especially for kids ages 4–8. Duration about 60 minutes. 
  • Feature Film: Phantom Boy | 1:00 PM

    You’ll be at the edge of your seat as this light-hearted animated adventure, made with hundreds of chalk drawings, unfolds. Recommended for ages 8+. Duration 80 minutes. Late seating not guaranteed. 
  • Short Films: Program 2 | 2:50 PM

    Enjoy a variety of animated, live action, experimental and documentary films especially for kids ages 7–12. Duration about 70 minutes. 

ART MAKING INVESTIGATIONS

  • Make a Storyboard |10:45 AM–4 PM
    1st floor 
    Stop by and use a variety of mark-making materials to create your own storyboard, a tool/technique used by filmmakers all around the world. For all ages; younger children will need adult assistance. 
  • Family Animation Workshops | 11:45 AM, 1:30 + 3:00 PM
    Bank of America Art Lab*
    Find out how to create the illusion of motion by making a flip-book, then work together with animation artists to transform your drawings into short films using our smartphones and an app.
    *Participants MUST sign up in advance at the Family Info Table on the first floor. Space is limited; best for ages 6+ with adults. All participants are required to arrive 5 minutes before the workshop start time. Workshop duration is one hour.
