Dive into art-making and storytelling with this month’s visiting artist LJ-Baptiste, an art educator and cartoonist from Boston best known for his ongoing comic book series COMIXSCAPE. Reserve free admission tickets online in advance* and join us for art-making and family activities. Explore exhibitions in the galleries: Napoleon Jones‐Henderson: I Am As I Am – A Man, The Worlds We Make: Selections from the ICA Collection, and Raúl de Nieves: The Treasure House of Memory. Keep creating at home with a curated selection of downloadable activities that explore the art of storytelling. 

*On Saturday, March 26, museum admission is FREE for families when accompanied by kids ages 12 and under, with up to 2 adults per family. Timed entry tickets are required, and advance reservations are strongly recommended. Day-of tickets are not guaranteed.

LJ’s Toontorials with LJ-Baptiste, 11 AM-4 PM

Engage as a family and create dynamic, character-driven comic stories with this month’s visiting artist, LJ-Baptiste. Our art-making investigations are developed for kids and adults to work on together. All activities are drop-in, first-come-first-serve basis, and space is limited.

Animation Cinema with Boston International Kids Film Festival, 11 AM-4 PM

Enjoy family-friendly animated short-films curated by Boston International Kids Film Festival!

 For the Animation Cinema and all activities taking place in the Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater, face coverings are required for all visitors aged 2+ and proof of Covid vaccination or negative PCR tests are required for visitors aged 5+. Learn more

LJ-Baptiste is an art educator and cartoonist from Boston. He is best known for his ongoing comic book series COMIXSCAPE, which features the adventures of a bright-eyed, perpetually preteen boy and his raccoon sidekick. Whether it’s work in animation, graphic apparel designs, or COMIXSCAPE, LJ’s art can be described as distinctive, masterful, and captivating.
